Bonneville Power Administrator Sterling Munro visits “every nook and cranny where’s asked to speak” so as to spread his message – a warning of an oncoming energy shortage. Citing the importance of conservation out of concern for air and water quality, Munro goes around as a public speaker trying to spread the message as far and wide as possible. His answer is the regional power bill (which had not yet been passed at the time of this writing). He further elaborates on how the delayed construction of new thermal energy plants, plus the inability for hydro power to feed the northwest’s growing energy demand, are the principle factors behind the expected energy shortfall.
