This document, authored by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, describes the situations of indigenous groups in the Americas that have not made contact with the outside world. In doing so, it outlines the geographical locations, historical contexts, and contemporary policies related to such groups. It concludes with a list of main threats to the full enjoyment of human rights of such groups, including contact, pressures on their lands and territories, extraction of natural resources, diseases, direct attacks, tourism projects, and drug trafficking.
